Founded in 1937 as a fishing company, Kyokuyo procures, processes and sells seafood through offices and group companies in Japan and abroad. Its marine products business supplies raw materials to seafood processors and wholesale markets, and processed products such as fillets, crab and peeled shrimp to food-service customers and supermarkets. The group also catches skipjack and farms bluefin tuna and sea bream.
The processed food business sells frozen foods, including grilled and simmered fish, fried seafood and Ocean King imitation crab, as well as canned seafood and seafood snacks. Under a policy of producing overseas for overseas consumption, Kyokuyo is expanding production bases in Southeast Asia and the United States. The group had 2,542 employees as of March 31, 2026.
