The role designs lighting environments for commercial facilities, hotels, offices, and other interior spaces while providing technical proposals to interior designers and clients. The work includes visiting and managing design customers, collecting project information early, joining architectural and interior planning as a lighting engineer and designer, proposing lighting designs and new value, and actively advancing projects.
The successful candidate shares project information with sales staff responsible for clients, owners, and agencies, and supports orders, design changes, and site coordination. The role also gathers market information and feeds it back to product planning teams for future product development. It is part of the Lighting Business Division’s Engineering Center and Lighting Environment Design Department.
Required experience includes lighting design work at a lighting manufacturer, interior design office, interior construction company, or architectural design office. Required knowledge covers lighting design technology for commercial facilities, hotels, and interior offices, spatial design, and the basics of lighting and electrical engineering. General PC software, including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint, and Vectorworks are required. Experience with design software is welcomed.
Preferred experience includes lighting design and technical sales at a lighting manufacturer, along with knowledge or experience in architectural equipment CAD, BIM, design software, or related fields. Graduation from a science-related school and qualifications or memberships related to architecture, interiors, color, electrical equipment, or lighting are also welcomed.
The position is full-time in Tokyo, with working hours of 9:00–17:30 and a flextime system based on a standard 7 hours 45 minutes per day. Remote work, including use of shared offices, is available. The employment includes a three-month probationary period with no change in conditions.
