Store DX Field Service Staff

This role sets up and delivers store services and equipment at customer sites. The work consists of light tasks rather than large-scale electrical or communications construction, so prior construction experience is not required.

Daily work includes configuring BGM, Wi-Fi routers, payment terminals and telephones according to manuals. For BGM, the worker connects a store's Wi-Fi and BGM tablet, connects the tablet to audio equipment, confirms that sound plays correctly and explains operation. For Wi-Fi, the worker connects a router to a store outlet, checks reception, measures connection speed and provides operating instructions when the result is satisfactory. Other duties include setting up payment terminals and phones.

Visits and assignments are coordinated by a scheduler by the day before. The usual day starts at the Gotanda office, where the worker collects the required equipment before visiting customer locations. The expected workload is approximately four to five visits per day. After the work is finished, the worker returns to the office, completes a daily report and ends the workday.

The required qualification is basic business etiquette. Preferred qualifications include basic IT and equipment-operation skills, the ability to understand manuals and configure equipment by following procedures, basic operation of smartphones, PCs and tablets, and knowledge of the communications industry. Communication ability and customer-handling ability are also sought.

Training consists of approximately one day of product-knowledge training after joining, followed by about one week of on-site on-the-job training and accompanied field work. Each location has members ranging from younger to more experienced staff, and experienced members are available for questions and consultation.

The assigned company is USEN Next Engineering, which handles installation, maintenance and operation of facilities and information and communications equipment. The work location is in Nishi-Gotanda, Shinagawa-ku, Tokyo. The employment contract is for three months, with monthly pay of JPY 222,213 to JPY 250,000, equivalent to approximately JPY 2.666556 million to JPY 3.0 million annually if paid for 12 months.

Working hours are generally 9:30 to 18:00 under a flextime system without core hours, with a standard seven-and-a-half-hour workday and a 60-minute break. Annual holidays total 125 days, including Saturdays, Sundays and public holidays, plus annual paid leave, a five-consecutive-day summer break between July and October, year-end and New Year holidays from December 30 to January 4, refresh leave of five consecutive days every three years, bereavement leave, parental leave, childcare and nursing-care leave, and reduced working hours for childcare or nursing care.
