Generative AI Engineer, Design Quality Improvement

The role is part of the BR Digital Innovation Department, which develops and implements digital technologies, including generative AI, to transform company-wide business processes. The position is expected to join an AI-agent development team focused on improving design quality. Its work centers on structuring tacit knowledge from design processes and developing AI review technology that can support design reviews and related quality activities.

Responsibilities include organizing design rules, past defect cases, and the rationale behind design decisions into a usable knowledge base. The role designs and implements a knowledge platform using hybrid search and reranking, extracts entities and relationships, and improves inference and search through graph structures. It also designs agents that interactively elicit and structure designers’ decision criteria, develops automated AI review functions for design documents, and improves their accuracy. Coordination of requirements with business departments and external partners is also included.

Required qualifications are at least two years of experience designing and developing systems that use AI or machine learning, application development experience with Python, and experience designing or building systems for structuring business documents, search, or information extraction. Experience with RAG system design, construction, and accuracy improvement; knowledge-graph design or graph and LLM implementation; LLM-based document classification, summarization, or structuring pipelines; manufacturing design processes such as design reviews and change-point analysis; and application development or environment construction in AWS or Azure are welcomed.

The role calls for someone who independently researches and validates new technologies or methods, shares findings with the team, connects technology to solutions for business problems, and has intellectual interest in expressing and systematizing tacit business knowledge. English ability equivalent to TOEIC 550 or above is welcomed. English use is described as almost nonexistent for email, occasional for reading materials and documents, almost nonexistent for telephone conferences and business meetings, and generally not required for assignments abroad.

Employment is permanent and full-time. The work location is the Daiba Development Center in Aomi, Koto-ku, Tokyo. The possible scope of location changes covers all sites, departments, and factories of Aisin and its related companies in Japan and overseas.

The position includes a work-from-home system and remote work.
