Tech Lead

This role leads technology for products in MICIN’s Medical Experience business, including the online medical consultation service CLINICS Online Medical Care. The work covers maximizing product value for patients and medical institutions, understanding healthcare workflows, and creating detailed data models and complete records of complex operational processes.

The tech lead designs architectures for identity and data integration across multiple products and works toward seamless user experiences. Responsibilities include improving continuous development processes and CI/CD so secure, high-quality products can be released quickly; planning medium- to long-term re-architecture and technical-debt reduction in line with team structure and product roadmaps; selecting technologies and designing architectures for prototypes and subsequent new-product development; and conducting code reviews.

The role also contributes to building a scalable development organization. This includes considering product direction over the long term, selecting technologies and development methods appropriate to product conditions, maintaining technical standards, sharing the product vision, discussing priorities with business leaders and product managers, improving development productivity, and creating and executing engineer development roadmaps. Collaboration with business leaders, product managers, and designers is part of the expected experience.

The business operates multiple healthcare products. Its CLINICS series includes an online medical consultation service used by more than 7,000 clinics, a pharmacy service used by more than 6,000 pharmacies, and a cashless service for clinic visits used by more than 1,500 medical institutions. The product development team has about 10 engineers, who work across front-end and back-end development and may be assigned to different projects as business and development needs change.

Required experience includes serving as a tech lead in in-house product development, defining system requirements, designing architectures, building extensible systems, selecting technologies, conducting code reviews, documenting information needed for product development, and proactively improving products with engineers and other functions. Experience launching a project or product from zero, infrastructure as code such as Terraform, SaaS or healthcare product development, and Ruby on Rails development is welcomed.

This is a full-time permanent position. The annual salary range is 7,000,000 to 12,000,000 JPY, determined with consideration for experience and preferences under company policy. Salary may be reviewed every half-year based on performance. Commuting expenses are reimbursed based on a reasonable route. The position is based in Minato-ku, Tokyo, with remote work available, but requires at least two office days per week; physical work, customer contact, or other effective face-to-face communication may also require attendance. Depending on grade and role, flextime with an 11:00–16:00 core time, discretionary work arrangements with recommended hours of 11:00–16:00, or supervisory status may apply. Holidays include a two-day weekend, national holidays, paid leave, summer leave, birthday leave, and year-end and New Year holidays.
