Generative AI Engineer

This position is part of the BR Digital Innovation Department, which develops and implements digital technologies such as generative AI to transform company-wide business processes. The role is expected to join an AI-agent development team working on procurement and quotation processes. Its focus is the technical development of drawing-similarity search and quotation-process automation.

Daily work includes building a similarity-search engine for drawings covering several million part numbers, using shape-based feature values, and evaluating and improving search accuracy. The role also develops AI-assisted quotation support by matching similar drawings with historical quotation results, presenting the basis for estimates, and using AI agents to improve quotation efficiency. Other responsibilities include automatically recognizing part numbers, shape characteristics, and dimensions; designing features optimized for similarity search; tuning feature values and similarity metrics; designing feedback loops; and visualizing the reasons for similarity results. Requirements are coordinated with business departments and external partners.

Required qualifications are at least two years of experience designing or developing systems that use AI or machine learning, application development experience with Python, and either experience processing unstructured data such as drawings, images, or technical documents with AI, or experience improving procurement and quotation operations or developing related systems.

Preferred experience includes developing document or drawing analysis systems using generative AI, LLMs, or VLMs; designing and building similarity-search or feature-extraction systems for 2D or 3D data; designing or improving the performance of search systems for large-scale data; processing manufacturing drawings in formats such as DXF, PDF, or STEP; and developing applications or configuring environments in AWS or Azure. The posting also seeks people who independently investigate and test new technologies, share findings with their team, connect technology with business-problem solving, and persistently work to improve search and matching accuracy for large-scale data.

The position is a permanent, full-time role. The stated salary is JPY 6.1 million to JPY 11.4 million per year, with a monthly salary from JPY 339,800. Final compensation is determined according to the company’s rules based on career history and ability, and overtime pay is provided separately according to hours worked. The work location is Daiba Development Center in Aomi, Koto-ku, Tokyo. The possible change in work location covers all sites, departments, and plants of Aisin and related companies in Japan and overseas.

Standard working hours are 8:30 to 17:30, although hours may differ by plant or business site. Some departments use a flextime system without core hours and with a standard eight-hour workday. Annual holidays total 121 days under the 2026 plan, with a five-day working week from Monday to Friday, spring, summer, and year-end/New Year holidays, condolence leave, long-service leave, and paid annual leave. At least eight days of paid leave are provided three months after joining, and the posting states a 100% paid-leave usage rate.
