Graphics Engineer

The Graphics Engineer develops the graphics required by smartphone game titles, with programming as the primary activity. The role covers the work needed to realize the visual requirements of each title. Responsibilities include researching, designing, and implementing methods for meeting graphics requirements; designing and managing assets; implementing shaders; developing tools for asset production; and tuning performance.

The engineer also considers visual approaches with artists and supports artists. When needed, the role contributes to general game-client development beyond graphics. The specific assignment is adjusted according to the person's skills and the balance of responsibilities within the team.

The engineer joins a title team and works with a cross-title graphics department while building the assigned game. Communication with artists and other job functions is performed when required. The named technical areas are game programming, Unity, general game-graphics technology, and general game-client development. Unity is the game engine, and the main target platform is smartphones and other mobile devices.

The listed work locations are DeNA's Shibuya Office headquarters in Shibuya, Tokyo; the Yokohama Arai Building office in Naka-ku, Yokohama; or the Yokohama BASEGATE office in Naka-ku, Yokohama. Remote work may be performed from the employee's home or another location recognized by the company as equivalent to a home. The stated scope also includes company-designated workplaces, including places where remote work is performed. The listed office environments are indoors smoke-free, with indoor areas where smoking is permitted.
