IT Infrastructure Operations Manager

This role manages Microsoft authentication and collaboration infrastructure for Nikon and its group companies, including Active Directory, Entra ID, and Microsoft 365. Day-to-day responsibilities include responding to work requests and inquiries from IT infrastructure users and system administrators, handling changes on the infrastructure side, and managing operations performed partly by partner vendors.

The role includes vendor control to improve the quality of outsourced IT infrastructure operations. It also involves reviewing and improving operational processes to optimize costs and increase user satisfaction, as well as applying for budgets, placing orders for outsourced services and maintenance, and managing IT infrastructure assets.

Applicants must have at least five years of practical experience as an IT infrastructure engineer in either Microsoft 365 or Active Directory/Entra ID. English communication ability and experience with vendor control or vendor management are welcome qualifications. The position seeks someone who can work proactively, propose and promote solutions to issues, consider matters from stakeholders’ perspectives, and perform duties while building good relationships with stakeholders.

The position is in the IT Solutions Division, Digital Technology Department, IT Infrastructure Technology Section, which is responsible for general operations of IT infrastructure in use across Nikon and the Nikon Group. The section has 15 members, including re-employed and dispatched staff. The role provides technical experience managing Microsoft products and solutions, along with management experience in budgets, assets, and vendor control. Career paths may include experience across infrastructure planning, design and implementation, management and operations, and user support; global policy and governance; assignments overseeing IT departments at overseas group companies; or digital promotion leadership in business divisions and domestic group companies.

The position is based at the Head Office/Innovation Center in Shinagawa, Tokyo. Remote work is available, with a stated home-working utilization rate of 20–40%. A flextime system is available. Working hours are 8 actual hours, with a stated schedule of 9:00–17:45; the break is 45 minutes. The probationary period is three months. Annual holidays total 128 days, with a five-day workweek, and benefits include commuting transportation, social insurance, housing assistance subject to conditions, an employee stock ownership plan, defined-contribution pension, retirement benefits, childcare and nursing-care programs, and club activities. Salary is ¥5,000,000–¥9,300,000 per year.
