Lead Graphics Engineer

This position develops the client side of smartphone games, with programming as the main focus. Working within a game title team, the engineer is responsible for realizing the graphics required by the title. The role combines hands-on implementation with leadership of the graphics area, including coordinating other members to produce results as a team. It may also contribute to general game-client development when appropriate.

Responsibilities include designing and implementing rendering systems; researching, designing, and implementing methods for meeting graphics requirements; designing data; implementing shaders; developing asset-production tools; and tuning performance. The engineer discusses visual-expression methods with artists and supports them. Depending on the title’s circumstances, the role may include advanced work such as foundational graphics-system design. The scope of responsibilities is adjusted according to the individual’s skills and the balance among team members.

The position is assigned to a game title team and works with the title’s specific requirements and circumstances. The named technologies and skills are game programming, Unity, general real-time-rendering technology, and general game-client development. The platform is primarily mobile devices, including smartphones.

The listed work locations are DeNA’s Shibuya office in Tokyo, the Yokohama Arai Building office, or the Yokohama BASEGATE office, with remote work possible from a home or another company-approved equivalent location. The range of changes includes company-designated workplaces, including locations where remote work is performed. The listed offices are smoke-free indoors, with indoor smoking areas available.
