New Graduate Technology Expert

The technology expert will design and build shared foundations supporting STORES products, including authentication and authorization, integration between products, and infrastructure for AI-driven development. The role also covers creating common libraries and toolchains, improving developer experience and development productivity across the organization, optimizing performance in large-scale cloud infrastructure, and leading technology selection and architecture design in areas of advanced expertise.

Applicants must have professional-level technical ability and achievements in a specific technology area, sufficient to discuss and lead work alongside professional engineers. A deep understanding of computer science and a record of continuing to explore technology hands-on are required. Selection for the Mitou Project, completion of Security Camp, core contributions to notable open-source software, or speaking at major conferences are welcomed as evidence of deep technical engagement. Applicants must be students who can join in April 2028, or discuss another preferred joining date individually. Eligible students include those attending high school, college of technology, university, graduate school or vocational school, regardless of faculty or department. The example technology environment includes Ruby, Ruby on Rails, Java, Spring Boot and Go on the server side; AWS, Google Cloud, Cloudflare, RDBMS, MongoDB and Terraform for infrastructure; React, Vue, Next.js, Nuxt and React Router for frontend development; Swift, SwiftUI, Kotlin, Jetpack Compose, Xcode Cloud and Bitrise for mobile development; BigQuery, dbt and Metabase for data; and Claude Code and an internally developed AI Agent based on the Claude Agent SDK for AI.

The products support the digitalization and sales growth of local businesses through software and customer data. The role addresses large-scale traffic, complex domain requirements and technical challenges across the full development cycle, middleware and infrastructure layers. STORES states that employees can work remotely, with at least two office attendance days per month as a general rule as of May 2026. Teams may set individual attendance rules. The work uses a flextime system with core hours from 12:00 to 16:00 and standard working hours of eight hours. The position is based in Shibuya, Tokyo, with work location changes potentially including nationwide locations and telework locations.

The employment type is regular employee. Annual salary is JPY 5,000,000 to JPY 8,500,000.
