Principal Data Analyst

This Principal Data Analyst role leads the data analysis organization for DeNA’s game business and supports the head of the business division as a strategic data advisor. The role contributes to continuous improvement of business strategy, innovation of existing operations, and overall organization management across business foundations, product development, and marketing.

Responsibilities include defining, monitoring, and analyzing game metrics such as LTV, DAU/MAU, retention, payment behavior, and event effects. The analyst designs, conducts, and evaluates A/B tests for new features and events. User behavior logs, in-game data, and marketing data are integrated to identify insights for improving the game experience and maximizing revenue. Market trends, competitor analysis, and internal data are also combined to inform future game portfolio strategy.

The role proposes the design and optimization of data warehouses and data marts in collaboration with engineers. It also contributes to selecting, introducing, and improving the analytics environment, including business intelligence tools and data warehouses.

Analysis results are reported to executives, development teams, marketing teams, and other stakeholders in a clear and actionable form, together with recommendations. The role also promotes a data-driven culture through awareness activities and training across the organization.

Additional responsibilities include leading, mentoring, and developing the data analyst team, as well as managing analysis projects and tracking their progress.

The stated work locations are DeNA’s Shibuya office in Tokyo, Yokohama Arai Building office, or Yokohama BASEGATE office. Remote work may be performed from the employee’s home or another location approved by the company. The work location may change to company-designated business sites, including remote-work locations. The offices are described as smoke-free indoors, with designated indoor smoking areas.
