IT Strategy Project Manager – Back-Office Process Improvement and Systems Implementation

This role sits in DeNA’s IT Strategy Department, which manages the group’s IT environment to maximize the return on IT investment. The department considers whether systems should be introduced or developed internally and establishes rules, education, and support for effective use. It governs IT across the group; most subsidiaries have little or no separate IT support function, and system development and operations are handled internally rather than outsourced.

The position belongs to the Corporate Operations Group, a 12-person team within the approximately 50-person IT Strategy Department. The group combines IT and corporate-operations knowledge and works with accounting, corporate planning, human resources, and other back-office stakeholders. Its scope includes maintenance and operation of core business systems, process improvement, and support for introducing systems.

Projects may begin because of a legal or regulatory change, a user consultation, the effect of another system implementation, or an improvement proposal from the IT Strategy Department. The project manager interviews users, checks the scope of impact, and advances the work together with those users.

Responsibilities include operating and maintaining core systems; managing projects for system implementation and development; defining requirements through external design; proposing and supporting efficiency improvements for back-office departments; and supporting those departments during system implementation.

The named working tools are Confluence as the knowledge base, JIRA for task management, and Slack and Google Meet for communication.

The stated work locations are DeNA’s Shibuya headquarters office in Tokyo, the Yokohama Arai Building office, or the Yokohama BASEGATE office. Remote work is also permitted from the employee’s home or another location approved by the company.
