Quality and productivity responsibilities include implementing test code with Vitest, Playwright and kotest, conducting code reviews, establishing development rules, and improving the development environment and use of coding agents.

Operational work includes monitoring, log analysis, performance optimization, incident response and prevention of recurrence. The engineer will use APM and data to identify issues and propose improvements. Additional responsibilities include scalable system design, technology selection, validation and introduction of new technologies, and accumulating knowledge for greater in-house development.

USEN PAY uses data from payment terminals to support merchant management screens and new services, including sales management, data analysis and store-operation efficiency. The development organization includes a product manager, frontend, backend and infrastructure members, as well as partner members. The role works closely with the product manager and business teams and may participate in discussions about why products are built, not only how they are implemented.

Required experience includes at least three years of web application development and operation, experience in frontend development with React and TypeScript, backend development with Kotlin or Java, or infrastructure construction and operation using AWS. Code review, test-code development and team development experience are required, along with experience or understanding of Scrum or agile development and experience understanding and improving the assigned system’s structure and issues. The position is full-time and based in Shinagawa, Tokyo. It uses a flextime system without core hours, with a standard working time of 7 hours 30 minutes per day and a 60-minute break. Hybrid work is available, and full remote work can be discussed depending on skills, experience and role. Annual salary is 6,000,000 to 10,000,000 JPY.
