Technical Product Manager

This technical product manager will join DeSC Healthcare’s Product Management Office and work on products that use medical big data. The role connects healthcare business needs with data technology, translating requirements from municipalities, health insurance associations, healthcare providers, and academia into product functions, system designs, and delivery plans.

The work covers four product areas: applications and notifications that provide interventions such as health guidance to insured people; data-processing products for cleansing, anonymization, and master data; data platforms including data lakes, data warehouses, and data marts, together with external alliances; and business intelligence products that analyze and visualize accumulated medical big data for internal and external users. Projects may focus on one area or span several products.

Responsibilities vary by assignment and include joining new data or service initiatives from the business-planning stage, leading project planning and requirements definition, and coordinating system requirements. The manager also validates value through customer and user interviews and combines AI, technology, and available resources when shaping the product. After planning, the role prepares development and quality-management plans, coordinates system and operational design with internal and partner-company engineers, and leads work through release while managing schedule and quality.

For existing data platforms, the role identifies customer needs and operational issues, organizes improvements to data specifications and functions, and leads management of data collection, delivery processes, AI adoption, productivity, and quality. The position works as part of a team with engineers, data scientists, business staff, and other stakeholders rather than covering every area alone. The Product Management Office currently has eight members, with future expectations including team operation and development of technical product managers across the healthcare business.

The role rarely uses programming languages for development work but uses AI tools as part of its duties.

Initial work locations include DeNA and DeSC Healthcare offices in Shibuya, Tokyo, and DeNA offices in Yokohama, or an approved home-based remote-work location. The selection process generally includes a casual meeting if requested, two interviews, a final interview, and a 30-minute HR meeting before the final interview; the number of stages may change.
