PayPay operates a digital payments and financial platform for consumers and merchants in Japan. Its app handles QR-code payments and person-to-person transfers; the group also offers credit cards, internet banking, lending, securities brokerage and point-based investing.

Revenue comes from payment transactions and services, including card and acquiring activity and merchant subscriptions, as well as interest and financial-instrument income. Consolidated operating revenue was ¥380.7 billion for the year ended March 31, 2026. PayPay Bank and PayPay Securities joined the consolidated group in April 2025. The app reached 75 million registered users on August 9, 2026.
