Design Manager

This role sits in the design department for Money Forward ME, a personal-finance app, and combines hands-on product design with leadership of the designers supporting the service. Working with product managers and engineers in a development team, the role turns user needs into product decisions and improved experiences, from UX planning through final UI design.

Responsibilities include creating personas, user stories, service blueprints and customer journeys; defining requirements and information architecture; producing wireframes, transition diagrams and prototypes; and completing UI designs in Figma. The manager also sets goals, manages resources, develops and evaluates designers, supports junior members, plans staffing and hiring, and coordinates with engineers and stakeholders on quality. Required experience includes five or more years of smartphone-app UI/UX design in an operating company, prototype and MVP production, product development with a development team, and management of four or more designers.
