Video Producer / Director

Serve as the chief director for video content planned and produced by NewsPicks Studios. The role includes proposing new programs and leading the production process from direction through filming and editing, for both recorded and live productions. The director is expected to guide the creation of new forms of programming as well as individual shows.

NewsPicks Studios produces and distributes primarily economic and business video content. The company was established in June 2018 as a joint venture between Uzabase and Dentsu. The position is employed by Uzabase and involves assignment to its subsidiary, NewsPicks Studios. Programs associated with the studio include WEEKLY OCHIAI, HORIE ONE, The UPDARE, 2 Sides, and OFFRECO.

Required qualifications are at least five years of experience working as a program director, experience with YouTube growth or video marketing, and production experience using Adobe Premiere Pro. Applicants must submit a portfolio showing the videos or programs they have worked on. Knowledge of economic news, management experience, camera experience, and Adobe After Effects experience are welcomed but not required.

This is a full-time position with an annual salary system. Benefits include transportation costs up to JPY 50,000 per month, a company-provided PC selected from a catalog, and a reduced-hours system. The selection process is expected to include four interviews and an assignment that checks basic video-production skills, although the process may change. Smoking is prohibited in work areas and is permitted only in a designated smoking room in the office building, with no work conducted in smoking areas.
