About this role

This role works in NewsPicks Brand Design, the media advertising division responsible for producing sponsored content. It proposes and drives branding initiatives for clients ranging from large companies to startups across various industries, using NewsPicks articles, videos and programs, events, and in-feed advertising. The work supports client objectives such as awareness, B2B service branding, and recruitment.

The account executive handles meetings with new and existing clients, including proposals, negotiations, and sales activity through implementation. The role is responsible for the full process from planning and production to delivery and reporting rather than simply selling advertising space. It identifies client issues and develops measures that address them through NewsPicks content.

The role coordinates closely with the in-house creative team, including editors, video producers, event planners, and designers. As the client-side responsible person, it carries the client’s requirements through to the finished content, directs the production process, and participates in interviews when needed. Future opportunities may include strategic planning, product development, AI-assisted sales improvement, new advertising products, agency network expansion, and other initiatives related to expanding the value of the advertising business.

Required qualifications include sales experience involving a media business, such as recruitment advertising, consumer or business media, advertising agencies, or content marketing. Candidates must have independently led new-business meetings through closing and have experience in solution-based sales, including drawing out latent customer needs and making proposals based on management issues. Intellectual curiosity about economics and business structures, an interest in addressing corporate communication and branding issues through content advertising, and agreement with Uzabase’s The 7 Values and purpose are also required. Experience as a strategic planner or planner at an advertising agency, developing brand or communication strategies, preparing and presenting proposals based on user or consumer insights and competitor analysis, collaborating with creative professionals, or managing a sales organization or business initiative is welcomed.

The position is a regular full-time role based at the Marunouchi office in Chiyoda, Tokyo. The annual salary is JPY 5,160,000–8,800,000 and is determined through the selection process based on experience and skills. Benefits and conditions include weekends and Japanese public holidays off, at least 10 days of paid leave, a long-vacation benefit providing two seven-consecutive-day periods per year, transportation reimbursement up to JPY 50,000 per month, a company-provided PC selected from a catalog, and a reduced-hours制度. The work location may change to the employee’s home, the head office, or another company-approved location, and duties may change to any work designated by the company. Smoking is prohibited in workspaces; smoking is permitted only in a dedicated room, and no work is conducted in smoking-permitted areas.
