Candidates must also have practical experience advancing technical negotiations with companies involved in the mass production or practical application of raw materials, materials or processing, including material selection, specification development, and delivery and cost management. Practical experience organizing and analyzing data using Excel or similar tools is required. The role requires the ability to discuss technical matters and prepare technical documents and reports in Japanese and English.

Experience developing CMC or heat-resistant alloys such as vanadium alloys, or materials development and related equipment design or fabrication in the fusion or nuclear fields, is welcomed. Other welcomed experience includes equipment design, material selection or fabrication based on ASME, EN, JSME or other domestic and international standards; creating models and drawings with 3D CAD software; validating designs with FEA or CFD and comparing analyses with experimental results; materials evaluation; practical use of materials, thermodynamics, fluid mechanics or mechanical dynamics; and knowledge of phase equilibria and phase diagrams.

The position is full-time and is based at offices in Ota, Tokyo or Kuse-gun Kumiyama, Kyoto. Tokyo-based employees may also work at a satellite office in Marunouchi from June 2026. Remote work may be discussed for employees living within commuting distance. Working hours are 9:00 to 18:00 with a one-hour break, with flextime potentially applying depending on business needs. The role may involve domestic or overseas transfers. Annual salary is JPY 7,000,000 to 9,000,000, paid monthly and subject to experience, company performance and individual evaluation.
