Simulation Engineer (Thermal-Fluid, Structural and Electromagnetic Analysis)

This role is part of the Simulation function in the Plant Technology division. It analyzes fusion-plant components in the thermal-fluid, structural, and electromagnetic fields, evaluates their performance and structural integrity, and uses the findings to provide feedback to design. The stated mission also includes serving as a neutron-analysis expert for fusion plants and providing technical solutions to domestic and overseas customers.

Day-to-day responsibilities include selecting or developing physical models appropriate to each analysis target, creating or modifying CAD models for analysis, examining suitable boundary conditions and meshes, validating the analyses to support the reliability of the results, and giving appropriate feedback to the design process.

Applicants must have specialist knowledge in one or more of thermal-fluid, structural, or electromagnetic analysis. Experience using 3D CAD software such as Inventor or Fusion 360 is required. Experience with commercial FEM or FVM codes such as COMSOL or ANSYS, or with open-source software, is also required. The posting additionally seeks the ability to respond flexibly to changes in projects and the surrounding social environment, together with an interest in exploring new technologies and knowledge.

Preferred qualifications include professional experience in mechanical design and mechanical drafting, coding skills using Python or similar tools, model-based development skills using Matlab or similar tools, and English ability sufficient for technical discussions with members from other countries.
