Vehicle Systems Integration Engineer

This role integrates the full in-vehicle system for newmo's autonomous-taxi data-collection vehicles, covering sensors, ECUs, in-vehicle communication units, power, wiring, and mounting hardware. Responsibilities include designing the overall vehicle configuration and connection scheme for maintainable, continuously operable data-collection vehicles; bringing systems up in real vehicles and test environments through assembly, connection checks, startup verification, and operational testing, including data acquisition, status monitoring, fault recovery, and restart stability; developing standardized mounting and installation specs plus change-management processes that absorb differences across vehicle models, to scale from reference vehicles toward vehicles closer to commercial operation; and evaluating, selecting, and working with vendors and suppliers on sensors, onboard computers, communication units, and mounting components, including prototyping and procurement readiness for multi-vehicle deployment. Work is divided around individual strengths while collaborating across the whole scope rather than one person covering every area. The knowledge built here is expected to inform the design of future autonomous vehicles.
