Additional preferred qualifications include Assistant Professional Engineer certification in the water supply and sewerage field, Sewerage Technical Examination Class 2 or 3, supervising or chief engineer certification for machinery and equipment installation, or civil works construction management certification.

The position is based in Kyobashi, Chuo-ku, Tokyo. Working hours are 8:30 to 17:15, with an eight-hour scheduled workday and a 45-minute break. Average overtime is approximately 15 hours per month, although some months during the less busy season have almost no overtime. Work is concentrated from mid-May through the end of October. The position has 125 annual holidays, is generally closed on Saturdays, Sundays and public holidays, and may require holiday work with substitute leave. Telework and staggered working hours are available. The employment is permanent, with a six-month probationary period and no change in conditions during probation.

Annual compensation is estimated at JPY 5,000,000 to JPY 8,000,000, including overtime, and may vary according to age and experience. Overtime is paid in full. Benefits and allowances include commuting expenses, meal, telework, housing and family allowances, business-trip allowances, qualification support, company housing in certain circumstances, retirement and pension plans, group insurance and employee stock ownership.
