Development Project Manager

This role leads product development and software design for AcroSign, a digital signage platform used for advertising, sales promotion, disaster-prevention information and entertainment spaces. The platform is used in restaurants, commercial facilities, public facilities, corporate offices and factories.

The assigned systems are digital-signage-related systems, mainly server software, with additional work involving set-top boxes and content development. Responsibilities cover requirements definition, basic and detailed design, programming, testing, maintenance and incident response for standard version-upgrade development. Customer discussions are generally not required, although they may occur in connection with incident response.

The role is centered on product-development work such as requirements definition and system design, together with project-management responsibilities for quality, cost and delivery. Programming experience is welcomed, but development is generally performed in-house by company members or commissioned to external vendors. Projects typically run for several months and involve approximately five to ten people.

The development environment includes Windows, PHP, C#, HTML, JavaScript and SQL Server. The platform consists of multiple elements, including a distribution system, controller, display and content, so broad technical knowledge is needed.

Required qualifications are approximately five years of project-management experience in system development, preferably for web-based systems; approximately five years of experience in requirements definition, system design and verification, preferably for web-based systems; and experience guiding or developing team members as a team-leader-level professional. Experience in the digital signage industry, proficiency sufficient to read code in PHP, C#, HTML and JavaScript, and IT-related certifications are welcomed.

The position is based in Chuo-ku, Tokyo. Standard working hours are 9:00 to 17:30, with a standard working time of 7 hours 45 minutes per day. A flextime system without core hours is available, and overtime may occur. The normal work arrangement is office-based; remote work is permitted approximately once or twice per month depending on work circumstances. Domestic business trips, overseas travel opportunities and travel for customers, study sessions or exhibitions may occur. The employment type is regular employee, with a three-month probationary period in principle. The annual salary range is JPY 7.1 million to JPY 11 million.
