Forward Deployed Engineer

Tailor builds the AI-native headless ERP platform Tailor Platform and runs a Professional Services business that uses it to solve customers' operational problems. As a Forward Deployed Engineer (FDE) in Professional Services, the engineer goes from the pre-sales stage into finding customers' problems and implementing solutions, or co-creates product development on existing projects to raise their odds of success, then feeds that experience back into Tailor Platform.

Examples of the work: working directly with customers inside varied enterprise operations and quickly picking up each business domain, using engineering skills as tools for customers' business problems, and abstracting solutions into reusable form that improves the platform. The environment uses TypeScript, React.js, Next.js, Playwright, vitest, Docker, Terraform, Datadog, Auth0, and AI coding agents such as Claude and Devin; engineers can rotate between projects and roles.

Applicants need one of: computer-science fundamentals, experience building AI-native products with LLMs, or agile or project-management experience, plus native-level Japanese for technical communication and office work in principle. GraphQL, low-code platforms and business English are preferred.
