Senior Network Engineer designing, implementing and operating large-scale global and local SD-WAN/LAN networks, with SASE, security and cloud integration using AWS.
About this role
This role leads Japan’s IT infrastructure organization and acts as the overall responsible person for the company’s IT infrastructure, with a CTO-like role in selecting technologies and overseeing infrastructure design, construction and operations.
The position develops strategy and governance for the entire Japan IT organization, contributes to overall direction as a member of the global technology team, and supports the activation, development and strengthening of the Japanese technology organization. Responsibilities include organizational management, talent development and team strengthening as the leader and head of Japan’s infrastructure area.
The role is responsible for providing the infrastructure, network and cloud services required by Eisai’s Japan business by using global IT platforms. It also carries partial responsibility for evolving the direction of global IT platforms, their design and construction, and the establishment of operational processes, while participating in decisions on global IT policy.
Required experience includes at least 10 years in servers and infrastructure, networks, cloud and security. Candidates must have worked consistently on large-scale projects from requirements definition through testing and migration, and must have led projects while communicating closely with multiple stakeholders. Professional communication in both Japanese and English, or equivalent motivation to develop this capability, is required. Experience in organizational management, including development and evaluation, is also required; management of a small organization is acceptable.
Preferred qualifications include experience promoting global projects, application development experience outside infrastructure, and the ability to quickly follow the latest technologies and industry trends.
The role is part of the Global Digital Business Transformation Division’s Japan and EAGS region, which has approximately 90 members. The organization includes regional IT and global function groups such as global infrastructure and CIO staff, with four units under the Japan and EAGS region: business transformation, platform transformation, information security and user engagement. The position is a regular employee role in Bunkyo, Tokyo. The workplace is entirely non-smoking indoors. Salary is determined through consultation.
