IT Project Management Specialist

This role leads and supports global IT projects in cooperation with internal departments including R&D, sales, production and logistics, and corporate functions. Responsibilities cover medium- to large-scale or highly complex project planning, including defining goals, quality, cost and delivery targets, governance structures, master schedules, and operating methods.

The position drives important projects according to plan or supports their execution. It makes the full project lifecycle visible from business planning through implementation and closing, including decision stages, stakeholder and role definitions, document review and approval, and process management.

The role also develops and operates common project delivery methods, such as guidelines, project management rules, and templates. It plans and delivers education and training to improve project management capability across the organization.

Within the East Asia and Global South area, the position supports business growth strategies using digital technologies and manages projects during implementation. The stated stages include infrastructure standardization followed by digital use in the business. The role coordinates with IT staff in EAGS countries, headquarters business divisions, and global IT teams.

Required experience includes project management as a project manager, project leader, or leader. Immediate-contribution candidates are expected to have large-scale project experience, while younger candidates may have medium- or small-scale experience. Candidates must have consistently participated from requirements definition through testing and transition, including leading and preparing designs or plans, and must have led projects while communicating closely with multiple stakeholders. English ability needed for participation in global projects is required; the posting states that strong motivation to improve while currently studying English is acceptable.

Preferred experience includes advancing projects from the planning stage before execution, business systems in production management or procurement, member development, direct communication with executives, global project leadership, project management standards development, overseas or cross-cultural project work, following new technologies and industry trends, and organizational management. Interest in healthcare and motivation to contribute to society are also preferred.

The position belongs to the Global Digital Business Transformation headquarters IT organization, Japan and EAGS region, which has approximately 90 members and four units: business transformation, platform transformation, information security, and user engagement. Expected overtime averages 20 hours per month and is 30 hours during irregular busy periods. Employment is regular full-time, with salary determined according to company rules. The work location is in Bunkyo, Tokyo, and smoking is prohibited throughout the indoor workplace.
