Multicloud Infrastructure Engineer

This role supports the IaaS business of USEN ICT Solutions and helps corporate customers address technical challenges related to cloud adoption. The engineer designs, builds, migrates, and operates infrastructure environments, supporting customer business growth through IT infrastructure.

Responsibilities include understanding customer challenges and proposing suitable cloud usage and migration plans. The role may work with sales on technical proposals in the upstream phase of projects, including cost calculations and quotation preparation. It also includes verification work based on customer requirements and testing for new service releases. Verification environments for AWS, Azure, and GCP are used to evaluate new technologies.

The engineer is also responsible for sharing technical knowledge and experience inside and outside the company. Depending on skills and interests, this may include planning content, writing, and speaking at seminars, including activities intended to generate new leads.

The team works with the USEN GATE 02 corporate ICT platform and its IaaS business. The business provides network, cloud, security, and DX solutions to corporate customers across different industries and company sizes. The role can involve projects from design through infrastructure construction and migration, and may take a lead role depending on project scale and content. It may also include verification of AI technology-based solutions.

Applicants must understand the fundamentals of operating systems, networks, and security, and have at least two years of experience in one of the following: infrastructure design, construction, or operations in an on-premises or cloud environment; web or application development; or data engineering. Preferred experience includes project leadership or project management, relational database design and tuning, Docker or Kubernetes operations, infrastructure automation with Terraform or Ansible, and operation of Microsoft Entra ID or Active Directory. Cloud certifications at associate level or above, CCNP, LinuC or LPIC Level 2 or above, and advanced IPA information-processing certifications are also welcomed.

The team consists of one section manager, two sales members, and three engineers. The position uses a flextime system without core hours, with standard working hours of 7.5 hours per day and a 60-minute break. Remote work is available, including full remote work, but employees may be asked to come to the office when necessary; the stated policy is to attend the office two days per week, and attendance is generally required during approximately the first month after joining. The workplace is in Shinagawa-ku, Tokyo. The position is regular employment with an annual salary of JPY 5,000,000 to JPY 7,000,000, including deemed pay for 25 hours per month.
