QA Engineer

This QA Engineer will lead quality assurance for products operated by an energy technology company. The role covers planning, designing, executing, and evaluating medium-scale verification, as well as building processes that enable the development team to deliver consistent quality. Day-to-day work includes testing new product features, designing and operating integration tests across multiple products, designing and performing non-functional tests, and operating automated end-to-end tests in line with release cycles. The role also evaluates and improves testing processes, coordinates with product managers, engineers, and designers, leads QA engineers assigned to individual products, develops QA team members, promotes knowledge sharing, and works with customer success and sales on prompt customer support. It also contributes to organization-wide quality awareness activities.

Required qualifications are at least three years of professional experience as a software QA engineer, the ability to pursue speed and product quality together as part of an agile development team, and communication skills across different teams and job functions. Experience testing web applications or SaaS products, automation at the unit, API, or E2E level, and offshore company management experience are welcomed.

The backend stack uses C#, ASP.NET Core, Entity Framework Core, REST APIs with FastEndpoints and MediatR, and xUnit. The frontend uses TypeScript, React with Carbon React, Vite, Vitest, and React Testing Library. Infrastructure includes Microsoft Azure and Azure SQL Database. Development and operations tools include GitHub Enterprise, Azure DevOps and Azure Boards, Visual Studio 2026 with JetBrains ReSharper, and Microsoft Teams. Engineers, including contractors, receive Claude Code Max 5x at company expense; Claude Code Max 20x and OpenAI Codex Pro may also be used at company expense when needed. The team is also measuring and visualizing productivity metrics related to AI adoption and considering Findy AI+.

The product context is an Energy Aggregation Platform that integrates and manages distributed energy resources such as solar power plants and thermal energy storage. The position belongs to the Technology Division, which has one CTO, two tech leads, and six members. The company is a startup with a workforce of more than ten people, and the role includes quality organization design and standardization, with possible future expansion toward QA leadership or a technology organization executive role.

This is a full-time employee position with a three-month probationary period. Compensation is negotiable; the posting lists an annual salary of 8,000,000 to 15,000,000 yen, determined according to experience and skills. Working hours use a flextime system with no core time and eight standard working hours; start and end times can be set freely, with a one-hour break. A remote work system is available. The workplace is in Shimbashi, Minato-ku, Tokyo. Holidays include weekends, public holidays, year-end and New Year holidays, and company-designated holidays.
