About this role

This QA Engineer will establish the quality assurance function for D1, a company-designed humanoid robot moving from demonstrations into commercial production. The role is the first quality hire for this product area and covers the quality systems needed for robots operating alongside people, including inspection evidence, traceability, and product-liability risk management.

The work spans incoming inspection, in-process checks during domestic assembly, and final and pre-shipment inspection. Responsibilities include defining standards and procedures, checking dimensions, assembly, wiring, electrical and mechanical safety, firmware and operating-system versions, sensor calibration, emergency stops, network recovery, packaging, and regulatory evidence such as PSE and RoHS/REACH. The role also plans aging, burn-in, continuous-operation, environmental, and accelerated reliability tests; analyzes defects; tracks corrective actions; reviews supplier records; and links serial, lot, component, and firmware data.

Applicants must have at least five years of practical quality assurance or quality control experience with mass-produced electrical or mechanical products and experience creating inspection standards. Required experience also includes defect root-cause analysis and corrective action, knowledge of electrical or mechanical safety, and supplier quality management. Native-level Japanese and English reading and writing for specifications and standards-related communication are required.
