SDET (Senior Level)

This Senior SDET role supports a joint Money Forward and SMBC initiative building a new digital bank for small and medium-sized businesses. The position sits within a startup project focused on embedded financial products and the quality governance needed for a banking platform.

The work centers on leading quality improvements, reviewing and strengthening existing API tests, defining API test strategies, and driving continuous improvement. The role also develops CI/CD pipelines and contributes to release criteria, severity definitions, traceability requirements, and audit-readiness protocols. Named testing tools include RestAssured and Karate, with collaboration across international engineering teams.

Applicants need more than five years of development experience, ISTQB or JSTQB Foundation Level certification or equivalent knowledge, and a bachelor's degree in information technology, computer science, or an equivalent background. Experience leading a development team, creating test plans and strategies, and using code-based API testing tools is required.

Business-level English is required; Japanese proficiency at N2 or higher is preferred. The standard hybrid policy requires at least two office days per week and encourages three or more, subject to company and role circumstances.
