Senior Data Scientist

As a Senior Data Scientist, this role develops data-driven solutions for complex business challenges. Responsibilities include designing, developing, and maintaining machine learning models for personalized advertising delivery, including customer lifetime value prediction, multi-channel customer modeling, customer segmentation, and campaign analysis.

The role also designs and implements recommendation engines using rule-based methods, machine learning, and deep learning. It leads customer behavior analysis through clustering and other advanced segmentation techniques, and cleans, preprocesses, and validates large-scale structured and unstructured datasets for exploratory data analysis and analytical planning.

The position partners with Sales, Customer Success, and client marketing teams to define, propose, and communicate business KPIs to non-technical stakeholders. It improves model performance through validation, error analysis, feature engineering, and iterative model-architecture enhancements. The role covers the full machine learning lifecycle, from data exploration and feature engineering through implementation, deployment, production maintenance, retraining, monitoring, and MLOps infrastructure.

The role includes managing production-grade code repositories with GitHub, maintaining version-control and documentation practices, and following data privacy requirements and responsible AI principles. It also involves researching and applying deep learning, natural language processing, large language models, and Generative AI.

Candidates are expected to have extensive experience in analytics, the IT or technology industry, and advanced AI technologies. The position requires technical expertise, strong communication, collaboration with business and executive stakeholders, and the ability to translate business challenges into data-driven solutions and strategic initiatives. The Senior Data Scientist mentors junior team members and establishes engineering, documentation, and development practices.

The successful candidate joins Mico's Data & AI Team and works with first-party and customers' zero-party data to build machine learning models. The role carries technical ownership within an English-speaking global engineering team. The work location may be selected as Tokyo or Osaka, with a hybrid arrangement combining remote work and office attendance; office attendance is recommended once per week.
