Backend Software Engineer

This role develops and operates the backend of MiiTel, a web application platform that uses AI to analyze conversation data from telephone calls, web meetings, and in-person business meetings. The platform processes more than one million audio records per day and supports sales activities, operational improvement, and the discovery of business opportunities.

Responsibilities cover feature planning, architecture, implementation, testing, and operation for MiiTel services including Phone, Meetings, RecPod, and CallCenter. The engineer develops APIs, shared APIs, data-platform components, and real-time processing features using speech analysis and generative AI. The role also includes designing highly scalable and reliable architectures, systematically reducing technical debt, and improving performance and user experience. Authentication and authorization infrastructure such as SAML, OpenID Connect, and RBAC must be designed and operated, together with seamless integrations with other web services.

The engineer works closely with product managers, designers, and business teams on feature planning and development related to multilingual support and overseas expansion. The position involves the full product development cycle, from new functionality through operational improvements.

Required qualifications are at least three years of practical experience designing and developing web applications and experience working in a development team. Preferred experience includes backend web application development with Python, building and operating CI/CD environments, serving as a team leader or tech lead, developing or operating SaaS products, and building or operating cloud infrastructure.

The stated development environment includes Python, Go, Rust, and TypeScript; Django and FastAPI; PostgreSQL and DynamoDB; AWS services including Fargate, Lambda, and Aurora; and GitHub, Slack, Notion, and Docker.

The work location is in Marunouchi, Chiyoda-ku, Tokyo, and the listing states that full remote work is available from home or another location where information security can be ensured, subject to exceptions for some positions. Working hours use a flextime system with no core hours.
