Technical Solutions Architect

The Technical Solutions Architect works with government agencies and partner companies in the security and intelligence domain. The role identifies operational bottlenecks, understands customer workflows and constraints, and reframes business challenges into problems that can be addressed with AI. It defines project scope and success metrics together with customers and proposes appropriate systems.

After the challenge is defined, the role participates in AI system architecture design and communicates clearly to internal AI engineers what needs to be built. It supports delivery from prototype through production deployment and operational adoption. Responsibilities may also include understanding the structure of customer data and designing API and system integrations with partner companies. Insights about customer pain points, constraints and workflows are fed back internally to improve products and support future projects.

The work focuses particularly on intelligence operations involving geospatial information and satellite imagery, including GEOINT. The broader domain also includes SIGINT and OSINT, with AI used to process and analyze intelligence information for government decision-making. Some work takes place in closed networks or other secure environments, and certain tasks require work at customer facilities. Business trips may be required depending on the project.

Applicants should have an engineering background and at least two years of experience handling customer discussions, requirements definition and project promotion. Relevant backgrounds include technical project management, solution architecture and pre-sales engineering. Practical implementation experience as an engineer is not required, but candidates must understand technical content and communicate with customers. Required experience also includes practical system requirements definition and design, the ability to turn customer statements into specifications, and the ability to document requirements at a level suitable for engineers. Basic knowledge of API design and system integration is required. Candidates must meet the requirements for obtaining security clearance; details are explained during the selection process.

Preferred experience includes work on government or public-sector projects, at least one year of software development using Python, construction or operation of cloud infrastructure using AWS, GCP or Azure, application development using LLMs or generative AI, projects involving GIS or satellite-image processing, system construction in closed networks or secure environments, and launching an AI service through personal development.

The position is full-time with an indefinite contract period and a six-month probationary period. Annual compensation is stated as JPY 8,000,000 to JPY 12,000,000, including deemed overtime pay for 45 hours per month; the final amount considers experience and previous compensation. Bonuses are paid twice a year based on the basic monthly salary and company performance. Working time is based on a discretionary labor system with deemed working hours of eight hours per day; general office hours are 9:30 to 18:30. During the probationary period, a flextime system applies. The role generally requires office attendance once per week, with remote work used according to project needs. The office is in Otemachi, Chiyoda-ku, Tokyo.
