Backend Engineer

This role develops backend systems for Web GIS applications that use satellite data and geospatial information. Responsibilities include building pipelines to acquire and process data for Web GIS, developing and operating tile delivery servers, and creating proofs of concept for businesses using satellite data and geospatial information.

The work combines data from different satellites and sensors with IoT and other ground-based data, as well as existing open data. Products are intended to present information such as marine environmental degradation and data useful for agricultural land and forest management in forms that end users can understand intuitively. The role also involves developing new products and advancing business development based on user feedback.

The position is assigned to either the Remote Sensing Business Division or the Computing Infrastructure Division. Product development is currently conducted by teams of approximately three to four people, generally around their thirties. The role may involve products used in countries such as Brazil and Paraguay and collaborative research projects with space development agencies and government organizations in other countries.

The main technologies are Rust, Python, and TypeScript, with Titiler and ONNX among the listed libraries and middleware. Development environments include macOS and Linux, including WSL2.
