As a planner for smartphone games, you will be involved in planning tasks for new or ongoing game development.
About this role
CyberAgent's Game and Entertainment division is hiring an Art Director for the Concept Design unit (CPU, Concept Prototyping Unit) inside its Core Creative group. The unit specialises in concept art at the earliest stage of game development and works across the group's subsidiaries, including on unannounced new titles.
The art director works with planners, directors, illustrators and designers to set the overall visual direction. Duties are art direction centred on concept art, including characters, environments and UI visuals for each title, schedule and KPI management, spotting problems and acting on improvements, and building relationships with and reviewing the work of outside vendors and partner companies.
Applicants need basic drawing and colour-composition knowledge, knowledge of illustration and concept art, skill with design tools such as Photoshop, Illustrator and CLIP STUDIO, art direction experience on 2D games, and a willingness to propose and draw designs personally rather than only direct. A portfolio must be submitted with the application. Experience with 3D content, strong management ability and illustration skills are preferred.
