Novel Editor

The Novel Editor handles a broad range of editorial work for SQEX Novels. Responsibilities include planning novel projects, discovering authors and works, developing projects with assigned authors, taking assigned works through book publication, supervising manga adaptations, and supporting editorial-department activities such as operating and selecting entries for the SQEX Novel Award.

At least two years of experience in novel editing is required. Candidates with recent hit works or a demonstrated record of creating successful titles are preferred. Desired qualifications include an interest in changes to the novel industry's business environment and structure, a personal vision for the future of the novel industry and novel business, strong interest in entertainment centered on novels, manga, and anime, knowledge of novels, works, and authors, and communication ability.

The role is part of the SQEX Novel publishing business. Editorial work considers potential media-mix development into manga, anime, and games, while covering interesting novel works across genres and helping deliver them to readers. The position also involves identifying opportunities to reach more readers as the novel business expands.
