Business AI Solutions Full-Stack Engineer

The full-stack engineer will work in the AI Lab of USEN ICT Solutions, supporting a new business focused on generative AI adoption for small and medium-sized businesses. The role covers in-house AI product development, client project development, system construction, maintenance, and operational support.

Day-to-day responsibilities include programming, data management, testing, and feature improvement for the company's AI tools Buddy and U-Buddy Chat. The engineer will also develop systems for internal and external business process reform, manage related data, test systems, and improve functionality. Additional duties include maintaining operating systems, troubleshooting issues, responding to user support requests, implementing client-facing contracted development, and providing technical verification and support for generative AI implementation and utilization consulting. The role may also involve technical presentations and information sharing at seminars and events.

Required qualifications include programming skills using a modern web technology stack, experience in product development and team development, the ability to identify system issues and independently proceed through implementation and resolution, communication skills for project promotion and smooth team coordination, and the ability to adapt quickly to changing technologies and new concepts and apply them in implementation. Preferred experience includes at least three years of practical engineering experience, machine learning work or system development using generative AI, vendor management or collaboration with external partners, and knowledge or skills related to launching new businesses or services.

The position is part of a six-person development department within an AI Lab of approximately 16 people. Work includes early-stage participation in the AI business, involvement from the upstream development phase, large-scale business-to-business service development, modern web development, generative AI implementation, and BPR support. After joining, onboarding includes company-wide training and one-to-one on-the-job training covering existing product codebases, development processes, and work procedures. The expected career path can expand from product modifications and contracted development implementation to leading development processes, designing new-feature architectures, and technical PM or PdM work on contracted and consulting projects.

This is a full-time regular employee position in Shinagawa, Tokyo. The workday uses a flextime system without core hours, with standard working hours of 7 hours and 30 minutes per day and a 60-minute break. Remote work is available, with approximately one to two remote days per week and three to five office days. Annual holidays total at least 125 days, with weekends and public holidays off.
