This position is assigned to SBI Neo Banking System and works in the Technology Headquarters as a cloud platform engineer and tech lead. The role designs, builds, operates and improves cloud foundations supporting services for financial institutions, working with development, operations and security teams to improve stability, scalability and development productivity.
The engineer designs and improves AWS-centered platforms for web applications and API services, including non-functional requirements for availability, performance, security and operability. Responsibilities include establishing CI/CD, infrastructure-as-code, monitoring and log-management foundations; enabling safer and more efficient development and releases; and improving operational standardization, automation and reproducibility. The role also provides technical support during incidents, analyzes causes, drives recurrence prevention, and optimizes cloud cost, capacity and performance. It supports development teams through technical guidance and design reviews, establishes cloud design and operating rules, and researches, validates and proposes new technologies and cloud services.
Required experience includes designing, building and operating system platforms with AWS or other public clouds; practical infrastructure or platform experience for web applications or APIs; and design, operations and incident response based on foundational knowledge of networks, Linux, databases and security. Experience building or improving cloud operations foundations with IaC, CI/CD, monitoring and log management is required, as is experience organizing technical issues and advancing improvements with development teams or external vendors.
Also valued: experience with financial institutions, FinTech, payments or API services; Docker, Kubernetes, ECS, EKS or Lambda; Terraform, CloudFormation or GitHub Actions; and practical SRE, DevOps or platform engineering. Experience with cloud security, vulnerability response, access management or audits, as well as AWS certifications or the Registered Information Security Specialist qualification, is also welcomed.
The role may lead platform design and improvement across multiple services and can develop toward cloud tech lead, SRE lead or infrastructure/cloud architect responsibilities. A future path may involve technology standardization and technology strategy planning. The team is also working to introduce newer technologies, including generative AI, into its work.
The work location is Izumi Garden Tower, Roppongi, Minato-ku, Tokyo. Remote work is available subject to consultation, and there is no change of work location or transfer. This is a permanent full-time managerial position with a six-month probationary period.
