Corporate Engineer

This full-time corporate engineering role leads freee’s internal IT strategy from management-level planning through operational adoption. Responsibilities include redesigning the company-wide IT grand design from an AI-native perspective, consolidating siloed SaaS tools, defining requirements and negotiating with vendors for new AI and SaaS adoption, and leading architecture design and migration for a zero-trust, zero-touch environment using identity providers such as OneLogin, device management tools such as Jamf and Intune, and security controls.

The role implements data integrations between systems and automated business workflows. It also promotes advanced use of Google Workspace and Slack through interviews with internal users, creation of guidelines, and activities to establish adoption. Additional responsibilities include defining requirements for a secure, high-speed internal network and designing procurement and management processes for Mac and Windows devices. Duties may change depending on business circumstances and the individual’s suitability.

Required qualifications are experience leading implementation or replacement projects for IT tools and foundational knowledge of networks, security, and governance. Preferred experience includes identity management with Entra ID or OneLogin, MDM with Jamf, practical use of Google Workspace, Slack, or Confluence, PC and network operations for Mac or Windows, business automation using API integrations or scripts such as GAS or Python, and building or operating IT service management with Jira Service Management.

The position supports the internal technology environment of a company that provides integrated cloud software for small businesses and individuals, including accounting, human resources and labor management, sales management, tax filing, and electronic signing services. The role collaborates with legal, human resources, development, and management specialists and requires translating technical matters into business terms and building consensus with specialist teams. The stated personal requirements include autonomy, the ability to identify and solve issues independently, logical communication, user-oriented dialogue, and agreement-building with other teams.

Employment is permanent full-time with a three-month probationary period. The work location is the Tokyo base at 1-2-2 Osaki, Shinagawa-ku, Tokyo, Art Village Osaki Central Tower, 21F, approximately three minutes on foot from Osaki Station. The working arrangement is a discretionary work system with deemed working hours of eight hours per day. Holidays include Saturdays, Sundays, public holidays, year-end and New Year holidays, condolence leave, paid leave granted from the date of joining, and six paid sick-leave days per year.
