Design Engineer

Tailor builds the AI-native headless ERP platform Tailor Platform and a Professional Services business that delivers customer projects on it. The Design Engineer is a member of Professional Services with a design-engineering background; the title marks a technical strength, not a rank. The person carries responsibility from pre-sales problem identification through business design, solution design, implementation and delivery.

The engineer works directly with customers inside varied enterprise operations, learns each domain quickly, contributes to customer growth as a team player, and abstracts solutions into reusable form that improves Tailor Platform.

Applicants need five or more years of UI/UX design for products or services, the ability to understand requirements and turn them into the experience a customer wants, experience of learning areas usually held by engineers or product managers and returning that to customer value, native-level Japanese for technical communication, and office work in principle. Enterprise domain understanding, leading AI-native product work, reusable abstraction of project solutions, GraphQL and business English are preferred.
