Multimodal Advertising AI Research and Development Intern

This internship focuses on research and development for an AI product specializing in display advertising. The work involves building feature-extraction models that understand advertising content from images, videos, audio and text, along with multimodal models that generate effective advertising based on that understanding.

Using large-scale advertising delivery-performance data, the intern will work across task definition, model training, evaluation and testing in actual delivery environments. Responsibilities include aggregating and visualizing display-ad data, designing and building multimodal deep-learning models, designing and building display-ad generation logic, and preparing reports based on evaluation and comparison results.

Required qualifications include experience in analysis and modeling with Python, a basic understanding of machine learning, deep learning and statistics, basic understanding of images, video, natural language and audio, and experience researching, reading and reproducing relevant papers. Preferred qualifications include experience using cloud services, presenting at machine-learning or artificial-intelligence conferences, having a paper accepted at an international conference in these fields, multimodal modeling experience, development experience with Google Cloud Platform, practical experience through an internship or project, understanding or experience in internet advertising, experience handling large datasets of several hundred thousand records or more, and experience developing programs that chain multiple models.

The role works with more than 10 TB of large-scale advertising delivery-performance data and involves designing difficult multimodal deep-learning models. It also provides experience implementing workflows using current LLM technology and learning about systems for an AI product in actual operation, with support from members experienced in generation, recognition and analysis tasks and from the AI Lab.

The internship lasts at least two months. The stated compensation is an hourly wage, with treatment determined according to experience and ability under company rules. Working hours are 10:00–19:00 with a one-hour break. The work location is in Shibuya, Tokyo. Saturdays and Sundays are holidays under a complete two-day weekly holiday system.
