Product QA Engineer

The Product QA Engineer works on a next-generation Enterprise Performance Management platform for planning, actuals tracking, decision-making and organizational learning. The product is designed so customers can build, operate and change their own management systems without consulting support. It combines multidimensional data models, allocation, consolidation, formulas and scenarios, with requirements for safe change, traceable calculation results and understandable configuration intent. The product also includes AI-based construction support and analysis features, while AI-assisted code development creates additional quality challenges.

The role has two main areas of responsibility. It raises service and product quality through test automation, AI-assisted test generation and test exploration, and quality assurance for embedded AI functions. It also leads process-quality improvements with lead engineers and product managers, including shift-left requirements and specification reviews, release and deployment process improvements, incident response and recurrence-prevention loops. The engineer is expected to write code, build tools and lead quality-related decisions within the product team.

Day-to-day work includes creating and executing a quality strategy, organizing requirements, reviewing specifications and UX, improving testing within an agile development process, and managing the full test cycle from planning, analysis, design and execution through defect reporting and post-release checks. Responsibilities also include implementing, operating and monitoring E2E, API and unit-test automation; defining and analyzing quality metrics; sharing QA knowledge with the product team; and applying generative AI to test creation and exploration. For embedded LLM-based construction and analysis functions, the role covers prompt evaluation, output-quality verification and hallucination detection.

Required experience includes practical analysis, design and execution of web-application tests; the engineering ability to design and implement test automation; business experience using generative AI such as Cursor, Claude Code or other LLMs, or strong aptitude and willingness to use these tools; and experience leading improvements to development or test processes. Preferred experience includes QA in an agile team, SET work, building or improving test-automation platforms, learning complex domains such as accounting, finance or corporate management, performance, scalability and reliability test design, security-quality knowledge covering vulnerabilities, access control and data integrity, verification of multidimensional models and calculation logic, LLM or AI feature evaluation, Playwright-based E2E infrastructure operation, and web-application development in any language.

The stated development stack includes Kotlin, Go and Rust on the server side; React, Next.js and TypeScript on the frontend; AWS, Terraform, Fargate and ECR for infrastructure; PostgreSQL for database work; Datadog Synthetics and Playwright for testing; and Cursor and Claude Code for AI-assisted development.

This is a full-time regular employee position with a three-month probationary period, extendable to six months. The expected annual salary is 7,000,000 to 15,000,000 JPY, determined according to experience and skills. The stated examples include fixed overtime pay for 60 hours per month, with additional time paid separately. Working hours are 10:00 to 19:00 with a one-hour break, under a flextime system with core hours from 10:00 to 15:00. The office is in Minato, Tokyo, and working from home is available. Holidays include Saturdays, Sundays, public holidays and December 28 through January 3, with annual paid leave, bereavement leave, childcare nursing leave, caregiving leave and menstrual leave.
