Senior Project Manager

The Senior Project Manager will lead the planning, development, release, and improvement of new products, with a particular focus on services using AI models and data. Responsibilities include driving projects from requirements definition through progress management, managing development teams consisting of internal engineers and external development companies, and coordinating delivery across those groups.

The role will promote the construction of platforms using medical data, design data pipelines, and lead implementations that use AI. It will also oversee stable operation and performance improvements for built systems, while driving continuous enhancement and advancement. The manager will negotiate with business partners and clients, coordinate requirements, manage scope, and lead consensus building.

Required experience includes project management involving the launch of new services from 0 to 1; experience participating in AI or data-utilization projects, including in a non-PM capacity; and experience managing both an in-house engineering team with multiple members and an outsourced development company. Business-level Japanese communication is required. Applicants whose native language is not Japanese must have JLPT N1 or above.

At least one of the following technical skills must be available at a practical working level: knowledge or proof-of-concept experience with generative AI APIs such as OpenAI or Claude and agent use; data processing with Python or experience building lightweight machine-learning models; UI/UX design and prototyping using Figma or Adobe XD; frontend development using HTML, JavaScript, or React; or basic understanding and development experience with cloud platforms such as AWS or GCP.

Preferred experience includes new business development, consulting, building collaboration schemes with other companies, system development in regulated industries such as healthcare, agile development, product management for large-scale product development, and practical DevOps or MLOps experience.

The product area uses healthcare big data, including claims, health-checkup, and personal health record data, to develop services and products for consumers and the healthcare industry. The position is based initially at the Tokyo office in Minato-ku, Tokyo. Working hours use a flextime system with core hours from 11:00 to 15:00; standard working time is eight hours per day with a 60-minute break. The employment package includes a complete five-day workweek on Saturdays, Sundays, and public holidays, social insurance, commuting expenses up to JPY 150,000 per month, a corporate defined-contribution pension, parental and nursing-care leave systems, an employee stock ownership plan, and a mandatory retirement age of 65.
