About this role

This full-time Senior Systems Engineer works in the Solution Business Division on one of three project areas: smartphone banking applications for financial institutions, B2B digital solutions for companies, or card-system development and operations. Assignment is determined according to experience, skills, and suitability.

The role covers upstream systems engineering from requirements definition through design and quality management. Day-to-day responsibilities include analyzing and defining client requirements with support from the PM or PL, preparing external designs, participating in design reviews, supporting test planning and execution, assisting with schedule management, coordinating with development teams, supporting service introduction and releases, and providing post-launch operations and maintenance support. Depending on experience and suitability, a management role in the development organization may also be considered.

The banking area involves highly reliable smartphone banking applications with account management, transfers, investments, and loan functions. The digital-solutions area develops fintech functions such as payments, account linking, and points through APIs and applications, including new-service planning, API integration, white-label deployment, and client-specific customization. The card area covers card-member management, usage statements, fraud detection, points management, real-time payment processing, and connections with payment networks such as VISA and Mastercard.

Named technologies and technical requirements include REST API design, OAuth 2.0, OpenAPI, iOS and Android mobile-app projects, and systems subject to PCI DSS requirements. Relevant experience includes IT projects or system implementation development work. Candidates should be able to build good relationships with stakeholders and advance projects, communicate smoothly with team members, learn technology proactively, identify and improve project or organizational issues, and solve problems through logical hypothesis testing. Experience with financial services, fintech, payments, points systems, BtoB SaaS, white-label products, card systems, fraud detection, or related SIer, IT consulting, financial institution, card-company, or payment-provider work is welcomed.

The position is based in Roppongi, Minato-ku, Tokyo, with remote work available subject to consultation. There is no change of work location or transfer. The contract is indefinite, with a six-month probationary period. Expected annual compensation is JPY 7.0–11.0 million, with a performance-linked bonus; the position is treated as management and does not receive overtime pay. Standard hours are 9:00–17:45 with a 60-minute break. Annual holidays total 120 days, including weekends, public holidays, and December 31 to January 3. Annual paid leave is 13–23 days depending on the joining month. Benefits include shortened-hours work, casual dress, defined-contribution pension, employee stock ownership, childcare and qualification support, training support, meal assistance, welfare services, and social insurance. The stated career path includes progression to PL, PM, and eventually organizational management.
