Octopus Energy is a global energy and technology group spanning energy retail, renewable generation management, low-carbon hardware and services. It supplies electricity and gas to households and businesses, installs smart meters, solar panels, batteries, EV chargers and heat pumps, leases electric vehicles, and oversees renewable-generation projects.
In the year ended 30 April 2025 the group reported revenue of £13.683 billion, of which £13.027 billion came from selling gas and electricity. It supplied 9.94 million customers at that date. In September 2025 it announced its intention to spin off Kraken, its utility-software business, as an independent company.
