Accounting & Finance Department Head Candidate

This role will lead the accounting and finance function as a department head candidate. Responsibilities include overseeing monthly, quarterly, and annual financial closing, preparing disclosure materials such as securities reports and earnings summaries, and gradually expanding into disclosure and management work.

The role will handle external coordination with the audit firm regarding accounting policies and with tax advisers. It will also establish and operate internal controls for accounting operations, improve work processes, develop team members, and build a more efficient and robust accounting and finance structure.

The position is intended for someone with experience in the accounting department of a listed company or a comparable organization, such as a company preparing for an IPO. The background section requests at least eight years of practical accounting experience. The application requirements separately state practical experience equivalent to at least five years and the ability to independently complete monthly and quarterly closing.

Required qualifications include practical use of Excel, Word, and PowerPoint; a Japanese Bookkeeping Certification of grade 2 or higher; experience responding to an audit firm for accounting audits; experience handling large datasets of more than 100,000 records; and the ability to collaborate with other departments through smooth and open communication. Preferred experience includes responding to accounting standard or tax law changes, consolidated closing, tax filing work, and management.

This role supports accounting governance and management decision-making within that corporate environment.

The position is full-time and based in Jingumae, Shibuya-ku, Tokyo. The probationary period is six months.
