Business Development Engineer

The Business Development Engineer role is based in Tokyo, Japan. The position develops business opportunities in the aerospace field. Responsibilities include preparing proposals for products and services, developing order-acquisition strategies, and working on contract acquisition. The role coordinates with multiple stakeholders, including private-sector companies, related internal departments, and government or public institutions. It works closely with engineering and sales teams in a cross-disciplinary environment.

Applicants must have a bachelor's degree or higher in engineering. The posting requires at least five years of professional experience in aerospace in one or more of program management, design and development in any field, or business planning. It also requires an understanding of spacecraft and the space environment, as well as experience coordinating multiple stakeholders. Experience launching new businesses or raising funds in a business-development or startup setting is also welcomed.
