About this role

The role leads the transformation of medical-data operations and infrastructure within the newly established Data Strategy Promotion Office. Reporting directly to an executive officer, the position drives cross-organizational changes to an AI-native data infrastructure that can support diverse medical data.

Responsibilities include managing the quality and value of medical data end to end, from data acquired from health insurance societies, medical institutions and municipalities through acquisition, standardization, database construction and practical use. The role also promotes projects to reform related operations and data foundations. In addition, the position expands the use of AI agents and advances change management by using the AI-native data platform under development, continuously accumulating knowledge and changing data-utilization work to operate on an AI-platform basis.

Required capabilities include the ability to structure and visualize complex situations and identify bottlenecks; communication, negotiation and coordination skills that involve surrounding stakeholders while understanding the positions of related departments; experience with data-utilization projects and an understanding of data warehouse and analytical-operation practices; and the practical leadership to enter operational settings and address issues across departmental boundaries.

Experience promoting efficiency or sophistication of work using generative AI or AI agents is welcomed. Understanding trends in the medical big-data industry and data-needs trends centered on the pharmaceutical industry is also welcomed.

The position is based initially at the Tokyo office in Minato-ku, Tokyo. Working hours use a flextime system with core hours from 11:00 to 15:00; standard working time is eight hours per day with a 60-minute break. The employment type is full-time. Holidays include Saturdays, Sundays and national holidays, year-end and New Year holidays, and paid leave. Benefits and systems stated in the posting include social insurance, commuting allowance up to 150,000 yen per month, a defined-contribution pension, childcare and caregiving leave, condolence payments, and an employee stock ownership plan.
