SCM Project Manager

The project manager will lead development and implementation projects for supply chain management solutions serving major logistics companies and manufacturing companies. The work focuses on improving and streamlining customer operations through software that uses company devices and AI technologies.

Responsibilities include requirements definition, upstream basic design, and system testing. Programming is mainly outsourced to external vendors, although the project manager may also participate in programming. Projects are developed with the goal of creating model-based, scalable SaaS business applications rather than one-off contracted systems.

The development environment includes AWS and Azure. Named development languages include Java and Python. Named databases include SQL Server, Oracle, and PostgreSQL. Solution areas include warehouse operations efficiency and improvement, transportation and delivery operations, and applications for drivers.

The role belongs to a business integration department supporting a supply chain business for the logistics and manufacturing industries. Projects generally run for approximately three months to one year, depending on whether they are proof-of-concept or formal development projects. Development teams typically include approximately 10 to 50 people, including external partners. Project budgets are generally approximately 20 million to 200 million yen, while some existing-system modification projects are smaller and handled by teams of several people.

Required experience includes a system development project or package software implementation project in the logistics field, and experience as a project manager on a system development project with at least 50 project members at peak, regardless of industry. Experience introducing automated equipment such as AMRs or AGVs, or material-handling systems, in logistics warehouses is preferred.

The standard working hours are 9:00 to 17:30, with a standard working time of 7 hours and 45 minutes per day. A flextime system without core hours is available, and overtime may occur. The work arrangement permits remote work, with office attendance approximately three times per week. Domestic business travel may be required, mainly day trips in the Kanto area depending on the project. The position is full-time, with an annual salary range of 8.5 million to 14 million yen. The probationary period is generally three months from the joining date.
