Domestic Shipping Operations Management Specialist

This role is part of the logistics operations team within the supply chain organization. The position manages domestic shipping operations and works toward overall optimization of warehouse inventory, shipments, and transportation costs.

Responsibilities include issuing shipping instructions, managing materials, registering ERP results, handling inventory counts, obtaining transportation cost estimates, and managing logistics costs. The role also manages logistics KPIs and promotes improvements such as inventory optimization and optimization of shipping freight and storage unit costs. Additional duties include preparing inventory and shipment-performance reports, coordinating with relevant departments, and carrying out both practical and management work related to shipping operations.

Required experience includes practical experience in domestic logistics, such as shipment management, inventory management, or warehouse management. Business-level Japanese is required. Practical experience using MS Excel or Google Spreadsheet is required, including functions and tools such as pivot tables, XLOOKUP, and SUMIFS. Experience using MS PowerPoint or Google Slides for work is also required.

Experience operating an ERP or other core business system, or a shipping system, is welcomed. Data aggregation and analysis skills using Excel, spreadsheets, or BI tools such as Tableau or Power BI are also welcomed. Experience designing logistics KPIs, including shipping freight, storage unit costs, and inventory turnover, and operating improvement measures through a PDCA cycle is an additional preferred qualification.

The team works closely with sales, development, manufacturing partners, quality assurance, and accounting, providing exposure to the broader business through supply chain operations. The company operates in materials development, manufacturing and sales of environmentally considerate materials, and resource-circulation businesses.

This is a full-time position in Chiyoda, Tokyo. Working hours are 9:00–18:00, including a 60-minute break. Annual holidays total 120 days, generally including Saturdays, Sundays, national holidays, and the year-end and New Year holiday period. A holiday workday may occur once a year for an off-site meeting. The contract includes a six-month probationary period. Annual compensation is JPY 5,000,000–5,500,000.
